Jonny's Innocent Pleasure #1:Musical Youth's "The Youth Of Today"
First off, lemme say that I'm not to shy to show you guys what I'm into cause I'm a very unusual guy hence the name of this blog, but if it's 1ne thing I have a crazy affinity for,it's most likely Musical Youth's debut album that came out in 1982 on MCA records entitled "The Youth Of Today".Now even though this album came out before my time,I was introduced to it 6 years later when my pops came back from a business trip with it in 1993 and ever since then I've been hooked.Believe it or not, this album not only inspired me to do what I do but it also inspired allot of musicians today,if you take a look @ Santogold's "Shove It",you can see that some elements were inspired by a Musical Youth song entitled "Young Generation",and please don't get me started on "Pass The Dutchie".....Everybody and their mother done sampled that from Missy to Pete Rock, but I will say about this album is that there is waaaay more songs on this album besides "Dutchie" that was groundbreaking, and for some young english blokes they were talented musicians and held it down for the early 80's.Sadly they disbanded in 1985 and in the early 90's,the bassist of the group Patrick Waite died of a heart failure, dang! dat suxx...I WOULD KILL TO GET AN MUSICAL YOUTH REUNION CONCERT TICKET 4REAL!!!!.....Anywho,for all you youngheads playin' catch'up,"The Youth Of Today" is mos def a classic to check out asap!!!!
Just 2 Let Y'all Kno I ain't Playin'....Here's Me In Action LoL!!!!
My Personal Faves....
